Greetings, everyone! I’m DanDan, an Assistant Community Manager here at Warner Bros. Games Boston. As a part of the Community team, I work with many individuals on the developer and player side of the GoT:C world, but most importantly, with our Player Council!
Our Player Council is a diverse group of players, composed of unique individuals who have shown exemplary ability to give constructive feedback, communicate broader player base perspectives, and are dedicated to helping other players within the community.
Given the Council’s role in communicating player experiences and expectations, they’ve helped represent the player voice for many hot topic features, like Preset Managers, Stake Your Claim, and Battlegrounds! Their understanding and passion for the game has pushed for high value changes, such as a new hero for ToTN, and better account deletion button placement to name a few.
Our Player Interview series aims to spotlight our Council members to reveal more about just who they are, and perhaps even illuminate the path for readers like you to apply for Court/Council!
For our second installment of our player interview series, we’ve chosen a well known force of chaos: Dark! As an integral part of our Discord, Dark has proven himself to be a well informed and experienced player of GoT:C. To find out more about Dark’s history within the community, as well as the role he plays as a member of our player council, read on to his interview!
Q1. What got you into GoT:C?
Dark: I was looking through the app store and saw the game and downloaded it. I played it for a couple of days and got addicted to it.
At first I was just getting started getting to know the game and all. I got to know the game mechanics and features, then, I made an alliance. I was T1 for a few days, then I joined BOLTN.
At first I was just growing in power, way back before armory and dragons were introduced. Even before attacker titles! I continued to play, and new features were introduced in a year, which became two, then three, and so on!
And here I am, still playing the game.
Q2. What troop type do you main, and what are your levels?
Dark: I’m keep level 35. My main troop type is Cavalry but I also use Infantry and Range. Usually I switch between the three when attacking and defending.
Q3. What does being an ambassador mean to you? Are there any features you’ve felt particularly passionate about?
Dark: When they introduced the ambassador program I applied for court and got accepted.
Then, I was sharing my ideas with others and the Community Team. The Community Team was also interacting with us on stuff, like gear or Heroes, what to change or make better.
Later on, I got offered a spot on Council. This is where the community team would ask us what we think about upcoming gear or Heroes. Being in the ambassador program is a great experience because I get to interact with others within the player community as well as the Community Team giving them feedback and all.
Q4. What kind of player would you categorize yourself as? A conqueror, a collector…
Dark: I see myself as a socializer. I got to know a lot of people through the game who are now my friends. I interact with them in-game and Discord.
Q5. What is your current allegiance, and how long have you been with them?
Dark: My current allegiance now is CULT, which I am happy to be with and interact with all the people I got to know.
My first allegiance when I started the game was BOLTN. It was a great experience to be in my first allegiance. When I started the game I got to know a lot of people who are now my friends. I also was in other allegiances like HEROES and SAVAGE. I had a great time being with them ,getting to know people and playing with them.
Q6. Any shoutouts you want to make?
Dark: I’d like to make a shout to all my friends who I got to know through the game. I’d list them all but it would be a long list of names. It has been a great journey since I started playing. I got to make a lot of new friends and I appreciate everyone who I got to know.
Thank you for joining us, Dark! Your history within the player community has served you well in your time on the Council.
And of course, thank you to our readers! While our community can be quite large, it’s the opportunities we have to chat with you 1:1 that leave the best memories and times.
