Introducing: Greyjoy Rebellion

 |  By

“We are Ironborn. We’re not subjects, we’re not slaves. We do not plow the field or toil in the mine. We take what is ours.” ― Balon Greyjoy

Balon Greyjoy once attempted to rise against the rule of the Iron Throne through the might of his Iron Fleet. In Game of Thrones: Conquest’s newest event, Greyjoy Rebellion, you will be able to claim the Greyjoy’s ancestral Seat of Power (SoP) Pyke, and perhaps rally an armada that will succeed where he failed.

Read on to learn more about

Greyjoy Rebellion

Greyjoy Rebellion is a PvP event that unlocks Pyke, a newly unlocked Seat of Power located on the Iron Islands, north of Casterly Rock and west of the continent of Westeros. Pyke’s unique location makes it invulnerable to siege by all but the most formidable armadas or those lucky enough to possess a Dragon.

During Greyjoy Rebellion, you can take to the water just as you would the land. Selecting an ocean tile while the event is active will allow you to use an Advanced Teleport and transform your Keep into a ship.

From the water, you can get much closer to Pyke and other points of interest along the Westerosi coasts.

Allegiances who have claimed it at the end of the event can plan to remain in the seat for up to two weeks. After that, the seat will evict and return to NPC control until the subsequent Greyjoy Rebellion.

Claiming Pyke

Pyke is an Event-Limited Seat of Power, and will only unlock while the Greyjoy Rebellion event is active. It has March Requirements that will limit who can attack or benefit from its bonuses.

To take over Pyke, the holder:

  • Must possess a minimum of 100 bannermen.
  • Their allegiance cannot hold too many Paramount Seats of Power (4 stars or above.)

There is no bannerman requirement to march against Pyke.

The exact paramount and bannerment requirements can be found by viewing Pyke’s info panel, which can be accessed through the Seat of Power menu.

If you fail to meet the above requirements, such as if your allegiance claims additional paramount beyond the specified requirements, or if the Holder of Pyke doesn’t posses the minimum of 100 bannermen, then:

  • You and your allegiance will be unable to send marches of any kind to Pyke. (Attack, Take Over, Scouts, or Reinforcements)
  • Any held Pyke Titles or Region Bonuses will no longer provide their benefits until you meet requirements again. This includes Water Teleportation.

As mentioned, water teleportation is unlocked while the Greyjoy Rebellion event is active. However, once the event ends, only the allegiance who still holds Pyke will be able to continue to use water teleportation in the 2 weeks that follow.

Requirements for Water Teleportation:

  • Your must be Keep Level 22+
  • The Greyjoy Rebellion event must be active, OR your allegiance holds Pyke while meeting the select bannerman and paramount requirements.

Try this out by teleporting onto the Sunset Sea off the coast of Pyke! Your Keep will transform into a ship you can sail on any body of water in Westeros. Use this to maneuver closer to other coastal Seats of Power.

Only the holder who claims Pyke and their allegiance will retain the use of Water Teleportation once the event ends.

Any other keep on the water will become ‘shipwrecked’, unable to send marches of any kind. Players who choose to not use an Advanced Teleports will be supplied with a Random Teleport to assist in their rescue.

Strategize

Now you are aware of this new event and the advantages Pyke will hold, organize your allegiance and plan to conquer!

  • With new attacker tiles, holding Pyke can be a great boon to underdogs vying for other Seats of Power! Take advantage of the water tiles around coastal Seats of Power, and attempt to claim the Iron Throne from those who have held it.

  • Pyke also could also make a fantastic decoy. While other allegiances may be vying for this powerful stronghold, use the distraction to claim other Paramounts. Even claiming Pyke for a short time can allow you to use water-teleporting to your advantage during the small unlock window. Be warned, if you lose access to Pyke during the coup, such as falling below requirements or losing the seat once the event ends, you will become shipwrecked and be unable to send marches until you return to land.

  • While Kings Landing often takes a powerful allegiance to hold, use Pyke to strengthen diplomatic ties with other underdog allegiances. You have far more power banded together, denying a more formidable team from snatching up Pyke’s resources, than you do apart.

Note: This event is intended to run alongside other PvP events, for our first preview there will not be any leaderboards or inventory rewards associated with it.

Let us know what you think!

As always, we are eager to hear what you think about the event as a whole, but there are a few areas in particular that we hope to gain feedback on. These things include how frequent you think this event should run, the value of the title and region bonuses, and the SoP holder paramount  requirements.

As such, we will be running some previews over the coming weeks for select kingdoms, running some surveys, and may make adjustments based on feedback. Our first preview will be:

February 26th, 2025 for Kingdom 1590.

During this preview, there will be a 1 Paramount maximum march requirement for Pykeview the Seat of Power menu for more information.

Pyke will be unlocked February 26th through the 27th. The allegiance who holds Pyke once it locks, will be able to hold it through the weekend and make use of it’s titles and water teleports.

Note: Pyke does not have an abdication shield when locked, so you cannot swap ownership during the weekend. Plan accordingly.

Our second preview will be:

March 12th, 2025 for Kingdom 1602.

View the Seat of Power Menu closer to the preview dates for more details about march requirements. We’ll also be including a new allegiance leaderboard.

Please join us over on our official Community Discord in the #Pyke channel to share your feedback and join in the discussion. We look forward to hearing from you, and can’t wait to see you all out on the water soon!
